About The 360°Experience
February 28th, 2019 marks the sixth annual 360°Experience event! All proceeds will help homeless and at-risk youth. Thirty-five community leaders will experience what it is to be a homeless youth in York Region, so our kids don’t have to.
Throughout the Region, homeless youth are sleeping on friend's couches and in cars, in church basements and in the park down the street, with no place to call home. The fact is, youth homelessness in a real problem and one of the greatest kept secrets of York Region. The 360°Experience is here to make youth homelessness visible.
The 360°Experience will create awareness of the hardships our youth must go through every night while homeless. Participants will start their journey at 360°kids' Home Base Youth Drop In Center in Richmond Hill. Home Base's doors close at 8:00pm... this is when the real experience begins. What do I do? Where do I go? How do I get there? These are some of the questions brave participants will ask themselves when they are put in the shoes of a homeless youth with little to no resources. Our participants will find out their answers on March 2nd when they must experience how hard one night can be for a homeless youth in York Region.
Participants should prepare to dress in layers, prescription medicine is permitted, no alcohol or drugs are permitted. Cellphone, with no data plan. Other than that, you have nothing. No jeweled possessions anymore. No house or car keys. No pajamas to change into. With nothing but a few bucks to your name, the clothes on your back and the shoes on your feet. We'd like to thank our agency partners: About 360°kids...
